2. Internationales Gitarrenfestival Magdeburg

I had a wonderful time on Sunday at the 2nd International Guitar Festival in Magdeburg. It was great to have the opportunity to catch up with my old friend Christina Lux and to hear her play her repertoire from her new album as well as give a songwriting workshop with her during the afternoon. I always find it interested to hear how each musician approaches the art of songwriting and I took away a few tips from the afternoon.

It was also an honour to be included in the line up with some industry GIANTS including Stephan Bormann, Antoine Boyer & Samuelito as well as Adam Rafferty who came up to me after my concert and commented on my groove!! A huge compliment coming from the ‘Groovemeister’ himself!

Below are a few photo impressions of the evening.

Getting the band back together!

We're getting the band back together! To celebrate my 37th Birthday, I'm getting the band back together this Wednesday (July 3) for a ONE OFF special open air concert at the Freilichtbühne in Mülheim an der Ruhr. I'll be joined on stage by Luuk Adams, Judith Renkema, and the heavenly harmonies of Sanne Groefsema & Robin van Veen. Hope to see you there for this special reunion gig!

Kiss & Ride - Available Everywhere

It was almost 10 years ago that I stepped into Soundpark studio with Lloyd Barratt behind the console and began recording my 2nd studio album 'Kiss & Ride'.
There were some incredible Melbourne musicians that helped shape that album including Daniel Farrugia (Drums), Tim Keegan (Bass), Berish Bilander (Keys) as well as some great guest appearances from Kylie Auldist, Jason Heerah, Liz Stringer, John Bedggood and David Manton.

The release of 'Kiss & Ride' brought with it life changing events - The song 'Highway Life' won an award for 'best song' as voted by the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society and later the MBAS further supported my band, gifting us around the world tickets which had us playing in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge, as well as giving me the opportunity to explore what Europe had to offer musically.
10 years later and I've managed to forge a strong music career in Europe, create a wonderful family and friendship circle and I now call Germany home. My 26 year old self would never have believed that my path would lead me here!
So I thought it only fitting that I finally get around to making 'Kiss & Ride', an album that has truly shaped my life, available to you all on all digital listening platforms!

Collaboration with Coby Grant - New Release!

Good Morning!

I'm happy to share with you a new video and single that I co-wrote with my good friend and Australian Singer-Songwriter, Coby Grant.

Coby and I had talked for a while about collaborating together and when Coby called and said she was looking for new songs for her soon to be released album, I suggested we get together  in my studio in Duisburg Germany to do a bit of writing. After a day of collaborating our track 'All These Years' was born! We liked the track so much that we wanted to quickly capture the song while it was still fresh. With all that fresh energy running through our veins we jumped into the studio and captured the track as you can hear it today!

I'm playing the acoustic and electric guitar on the single and you can hear me singing along with Coby in the chorus. I hope you like the track as much as we enjoyed making it.

Paper trails...

I had the pleasure to chat  with Klaus Buntes this week for a very colourful interview that was published today in the Stadtanzeiger-Soest. We chatted about all things German, my recent release 'Back Road', how to cope with Drinking German Filter Coffee and of course what to expect at my show this Friday at the Alter Schlachthof in Soest!

Festivals & Concerts in May 2018

There are some great festivals and concerts coming up in May that I am very much looking forward to.

Firstly, and most exciting, I will be playing a few shows with my brand new band members this May which is a very nice feeling. I have the pleasure of working with three great musicians from Munich, Lukas Häfner (guitar), Bernhard Pricha (Percussion/Drums) and Sebastian Giek (Bass). I will post more about this later and introduce the new guys to you!

We will 'kick things off' with a small warm up show in Dachau at Cafe Gramsci on 17th May before heading to Fürth a few days later to perform on the open stage at the 19 Fürther New Orleans Festival on Sunday 20th May.

25th May I'll continue on my way with a string of Solo Concerts at Blue Note in Wolfenbüttel, Then head north to play at the Ahrensburger Musicnacht Festival on the 26th May with my friends Belle Roscoe, Joel Havea Trio and Steve Baker.

The shows in May will conclude on the 31st with yet another wonderful festival Music aus Alle Welt in the magical Evangelische Kirche Flierich with Diane Ponzio, Stuart Rose & Silent Roots.

Back Road Acoustic Tour

To kick start the 2018, I'll be heading out on tour this February and March in Germany and the Netherlands. The tour will start with three support shows for Germany's Gil Ofarim and will be a completely acoustic solo affair.

I'm looking forward to showcasing the tracks from my latest album 'Back Road' in their raw, stripped back, acoustic forms, together with stories and perhaps a few brand new songs thrown in for good measure!

See you on the Road.

x Jaimi

December UK TOUR

I'm very pleased to announce that this December 2017 I will be heading to the U.K for the first time to play a small solo tour.

It's the first time that I will tour the UK and I'll be joining some friends on the road. As well as some of my own headline shows, I'll be joining fellow Australian Singer-Songwriter Derrin Nauendorf on the 1st Dec at the Slaughtered Lamb Pub in London aswell as the 9th Dec at the Spring and Arts Heritage Centre in Havant.

I'm also looking forward to opening two shows for Los Pacaminos (featuring Paul Young) on the 2nd Dec at The Studio in Wdnes as well as the 3rd Dec at the David Lloyd Club in Bolton. I had the honour of opening a tour for Paul Young in Central Europe a few years back, so it will be nice to catch up with him again.

If you live in UK, Id love to see you at a show.

Back Road Tour End - Farewell to Band

End of an era. It's been a wonderful journey playing with these guys and girls and on Sunday night we played our last show of the 'Back Road' Album Release tour together in Tilburg NL.

Together we've played hundreds of shows and made two great albums, but after four years we all feel it's time to explore different musical paths and have decided take an indefinite break.

On January 6 2018 we will get together one last time in Essen Germany for a farewell concert.
Thanks to everyone that supported us over the years as a band. It means a lot.

Live on Radio Bremen Zwei

Tonight the band and I will head to my old home town of Bremen to perform a Radio session on Radio Bremen Zwei. Tune in to the radio show 'Sounds' at 8pm to hear us chat about all things music and of course to hear us play some live tracks from our latest release 'Back Road.'

Bremen Zwei

Today my new music video ALL MY HOPE IS GONE is released on Youtube!

Shot over 6 hours in a video studio in Oberhausen Germany, the production and camera work was done by my good friend Alexander Schroer and his brother Patrick and was a lot of fun to shoot.

Luuk Adams joined me on Drums to provide the back beat for the shoot and the end result is fun and cool. The song of course is featured on my most recent album BACK ROAD. I hope you like it!
